Detailed description of the elements of the charcoal kilns of "EURO" series

Detailed description

1.The furnace chamber. Wood waste, natural gas or pyrolysis products can be used as fuel. It is made of refractory materials using modern insulating materials.  It is also equipped with an ashpit, blower, afterburning plug and other elements.

2. Drying/pyrolysis chambers A/B with a common wall. Equipped with flame tubes made of heat-resistant steel (1100° C). The chambers are equipped with a vapour pipe that is connected to the collector of the trolleys.

3. Trolley of the volume of 1,36 m3 or 4 m3  or 5,4 m3 in quantity (12, 14 or 4 pieces) that is necessary in order to ensure the continuity of the process. The processes of loading, drying, pyrolysis and then cooling of the charcoal to ambient temperature take place in the trolleys.

4. The flame tubes of drying/pyrolysis chambers. They are located in the lower part of the drying/pyrolysis chamber and made of heat-resistant steel (1000° C). They heat the raw material in the trolleys and prevent from direct contact of the heat carrier and raw material.

5 and 6 Slide dampers in the amount of 2 pieces in the place of connection of the kiln and flame tubes and 2 pieces in the place of connection of the flame tubes with the chimney. They provide the control of the process and the change of drying/pyrolysis modes.

7. Gas collector. It removes the steam from the trolleys in the chamber during the drying process and carbonization products during the pyrolysis process into the combustion chamber.

8. Gas pipes. The pyrolysis products are conducted through them to the furnace chamber, where they are burnt in order to maintain the process and thereby make it environmentally friendly.

9. Steam valve. It is designed for gas-tight overlap of steam from the chamber to the atmosphere and is an alternative to a butterfly valve. The distinctive features of the valve are its low price, cheap service, high temperatures resistance (up to 500° C) and long service life.

10. Gas valve. It is designed for gas-tight overlap of the channel of pyrolysis gas (from the chamber to the furnace). It is an important element that guarantees safe operation of the kiln. The distinctive features of the valve are its low price, high temperatures resistance (up to 500° C) and long service life.

11. Water seal. It is used to stabilize the pressure within the chamber and collect condensate from steam channel. It is equipped with the liquid level sensor.

12. The exhaust pipe has fixed and removable parts. The stationary part is made of heat-resistant steel, while the removable part is isolated and equipped with the deflector.

13. Control panel and automatic controls system – system of control and automation for process conduction. Includes processor, actuating mechanisms, thermocouples, sound and light alarms.

14. Afterburning plug or afterburner. It is used for afterburning of excess pyrolysis products. It can be equipped with an additional heat recovery boiler for the collection of excess heat. Depending on the raw materials used, the volume of the plug or afterburner is determined.

15. Platform for moving trolleys with electric winch. It is used for moving trolleys around the site and their loading/unloading into/out of the camera(s).

16. Stationary trestle for trolleys. With its use, the following technological operations of the charcoal production process are carried out:

  • Loading of the trolleys with raw material
  • Cooling of charcoal in trolleys
  • Stabilization of charcoal
  • Unloading of charcoal from trolleys
